The Mississippi Humanities Council is a private nonprofit corporation funded by Congress through the National Endowment for the Humanities to provide public programs in traditional liberal arts disciplines.

MHC awards grants to nonprofit organizations to sponsor projects and public programs, which use the knowledge and insights of one or more areas of the humanities to increase understanding of the human experience.

The Greater Jackson Arts Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that works in public/private partnership with the City of Jackson and the Jackson Convention & Visitors Bureau. Our agency also receives public funding from the Mississippi Arts Commission, Hinds County Board of Supervisors, U.S. Department of Education, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
